Home | Case Studies | Orgoman Case Study: Without Mimeo, We Never Would Have Made It
When Dr. Jim Romano and Nancy Ritchie Steen founded Orgoman in 2005, Dr. Romano wrote the first of what would become eight Destroyer books, comprehensive test study guides designed to help students master the science required for entrance exams like the Dental Admissions Test. The DAT Destroyer alone is close to 600 pages of detailed explanations and practice material.
In the early days, Orgoman relied on Staples and a local copy shop to print and bind their study guides. Sometimes that meant a three-hour drive to pick up the books and a three-hour drive home, only to then distribute them to students in person. The process was time-consuming, error-prone, and limited Orgoman’s reach entirely to students who could attend in-person sessions. For a company with ambitions to grow, that wasn’t a sustainable model.
